(any excuse to include a clip of this very funny fllm).
Tetbury is so immersed in the good life that I wanted to move there tomorrow. London has been my home for almost 25 years and as much as this city has treated me well, I think it's time for a change. We spent the weekend amongst people who live all over the UK and a small few who live in London. The Londoners look weary and the out of London types seem upbeat and less cynical. Maybe it was because we were there to celebrate our friends getting married or maybe it's because London does wear you down, eventually.
I realise that in every part of the UK there are pockets of the yob mentality but it seems in our particular postcode this is their preferred habitat. After a lovely night out at the pictures with Mr C, we jumped into a black taxi outside the cinema. Still on a high from a very funny film and not really paying attention to a double-decker bus that had pulled up alongside us, the following happened. The bus-driver decided to leave his bus (full of passengers) and pick a fight with our cab driver. We're not entirely sure what the fight was about but afterwards we learnt it was to do with a minor driving error 50 yards up the road. But this minor driving error had so enraged the bus driver that he pulled a knife on our taxi driver.
